Winter Portrait

Though I would never admit it publicly, I am incredibly vain, evidenced by the fact that I love drawing myself.

This portrait came into being because I wanted to try something new with layer styles. Actually, just something simple. I created the portrait on a separate layer from the texture and, instead of using a layer style to merge them, I used the cell shading as a selection tool and simply adjusted the hue and lightness of the textured background. Mostly, I wanted to see if it would work.
Not sure I'll use this technique again, but I enjoyed myself.
